A Hot Interbike OutDoor Demo

Body Wipes for Cycling - Interbike 2013"It's hot. Damn hot! Real hot!” –Robin Williams, Good Morning Vietnam

The bikes were hot, the vibes were smokin’ and the temperature was in triple digits. This year’s Interbike and Outdoor Demo (the world’s largest) was as big and exciting as they come. After 4 year’s of guerrilla marketing, Action Wipes had a full-on presence at this year’s Interbike Outdoor Demo; held in Boulder City’s Bootleg Canyon Mountain Bike Park. The Action Wipes booth was right on the demo path as riders came off of the Bootleg Canyon Trails, hot, sweaty, dusty and looking for a way to cool off and clean up after their rides. We set up a double wide tent with lounge chairs, music, snacks and ice cold drinks along with coolers full of Action Wipes. In addition, we dispatched the Action Wipes team all around the Demo area with rolling coolers to hand out our version of a cool shower to the riders.

To add to the fun, we had the cycling version of our Dirt Bag Challenge. This is where we asked the cycling community what was the longest they’ve gone without a shower. You’d think the number of days would be short, right? But we had some that had gone weeks while cycling the country or participating in cycling camps. Two riders won $100 cash each and a year’s supply of Action Wipes!

Action Wipes Cooling LoungeThe booth was hopping as well with visits from many pros and rider celebrities including Ally Stacher, Austin Horse, James Stout, Krista Park, Steve Blick and others. The film crew from Bike Insiders was there for an onsite interview with Martha, the creator of Action Wipes, so we are looking forward to seeing that on their site soon.

Ride to Recovery at Interbike 2013Seeing all the riders and vendors cooling down with Action Wipes was fun, but the most humbling moments were watching the 150+ riders in the Ride-2-Recovery Honor Ride pull into Bootleg Canyon with a full honor guard and a cheering crowd. The riders, including many wounded veterans rode 25 miles from Las Vegas Boulevard to Boulder City. The ride is part of a national series to raise awareness of, and provide support to, wounded veterans and we were proud to provide some Action Wipes to all the participants. We also were proud to help sponsor the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) as well as the USA CRITS Championship Series EXPO event where we gave out Action Wipes product and samples.
